This week's distance learning assignments can be found on the "work" page. There you will see reading/language arts, math, and social studies activities. We have included links that can help with your scholar's learning.
This week we will be discussing the following....
Reading/Language Arts
This week will be reviewing comma’s, adjectives, character traits, and figurative language. Scholars will also choose to write an opinion essay or a narrative.
Comma’s- To separate things in a list: "cows, horses, pigs, and sheep".
Adjectives- a word that says something about a noun or pronoun.
Character Traits-words that describe and help us understand a character.
Figurative Language (literal and non-literal language)
Mathematics
Last week we learned about telling time to the nearest minute. This week we will focus on measuring elapsed time intervals. An elapsed time interval is the amount of time that passes from the start of an activity to the end of the activity. We will use My Math, Zearn, and Dreambox to support learning this concept. Please view the anchor chart and watch the instructional videos to get your scholar started.
*Scholars should practice 8’s times tables this week.
Social Studies
We will be going over the Thirteen Colonies. Scholars will log into their Clever accounts to watch the Thirteen Colonies video. Then they take the easy quiz or pick another activity at the bottom of the page to complete.
